Instructors Hockey Bio
Josh Elmes from Brandon, Manitoba. Josh played Midget AAA for 2 years, before graduating to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for 3 years for the OCN Blizzard. Josh would eventually move on to play 1 year in the USHL, 1 year for the Manitoba Bison, 1 year in the SPHL, 2 years in the ECHL
Goalie Instructor- Rodman Batson
From Pine Creek First Nation, grew up in Brandon, Manitoba played Midget AAA for the Central Plains Capitals for 1 season, before being called up to play Junior A & B for the South East Blades (MJHL) and Sagkeeng Hawks (KJHL). Rodman also attended Athol Murray College of Notre Dame for 2 seasons. Rodman would eventually go on to become a Head instructor for both Goaltenders Only (a goalie specific *year-round* training center) and instruct for Gold in the Net (Goalie Schools).
Monthly Hockey Training Memberships
Long term athlete development is the best approach when you are wanting overall improvement. We have been fortunate to work with athletes from an introductory level all the way through to the pros. If you are looking to begin an off-ice training protocol, it’s important to recognize the stages of development involved for physical training. As strength and conditioning coaches, we understand the varying complexity of exercises and the underlying physical characteristic required for appropriate prescription. The first stage of our training will be to assess your movement IQ, this will help us determine where our program will begin. Every sport (and position within sport) demands different capacities for movement, for example, a gymnast will require greater movement capacity than a hockey player. Our goal is to help you develop a stronger connection with your body and to control it within the capacity necessary for optimal performance in your sport.
Once we have built the essential movements throughout our foundational phase, we can start to assess the physical qualities outlined in the second block of our pyramid. These physical qualities are important in every sport, that said, the amount of development for each will vary between sports and your position within sport. For example, a marathon runner must possess significantly different physical qualities than a hockey player. Our goal is to develop a program that will help you achieve balance between the physical qualities necessary for optimal performance in as a hockey player.
Training is an evolutionary process; over the years we have had to opportunity to help guide hundreds of athletes through the physical progressions necessary for performance at a higher level. If you would like to begin discussing a plan that will fit your needs, contact us today!
Hockey membership prices
- 12 Under - 2 classes per week
- 12-14 - 3 classes per week
- 15+ - 4 classes per week
Summer Camp Prices (3 Months) *Features on-ice*
Young guns (ages 6-10) - 3 days per week/ 28 sessions over 10 weeks span $750
Elite (ages 11-15)- 4 sessions per week/ 35 sessions over 10 weeks span $950
Junior/ college/ pro (ages 16 and older) - 5 days per week/ 44 sessions for 9 weeks span $1300
Phases of Training *players can join at any point in the season/off-season*
July – “Prep” for training, increase foundational Strength, Conditioning and stamina, correct/improve movement patterns.
August - Develop muscle mass and strength for greater overall tolerance to high intensity training.
September - Develop speed in preparation for camps, tryouts and evaluations. Focus on building and improving explosive power and get the body firing on all cylinders to show your true best.
