What should I wear to my massage appointment?
You should wear what is comfortable for you. You don’t need to take off all your clothes to receive massage. However, most massage techniques are best done with as few clothes on as possible to allow access to the areas that require treatment. We provide draping on the treatment tables in the form of sheets and blankets to facilitate the need for privacy and allow your therapist to get to your body. Only the treated area is exposed at any given time, and we never expose genital and female breast regions during treatment no matter what clothes you leave on or off. The treatment rooms are totally private to allow you to transition from your street clothes to the table and back again.
How often should I get massage?
Your therapist will work with you to make a treatment plan based on your health goals. Some is better than none and more is better than some. Athletes often receive massage daily and some people come in as needed. It all depends on individual goals and schedules.
Can I tip my therapist?
Tips are always appreciated but never required. Tips are accepted in cash, debit or credit cards.
Can I work out after my massage?
It’s recommended to allow time to remain relaxed after your massage session to receive maximum effectiveness. One of the benefits of massage is to counter effect the habitual tensions caused by how you use your body. If you work out immediately after a massage, the tendency is to tighten back up into your typical patterns, lessening the positive results of the massage. It would be more beneficial to work out before your massage appointment.
Will the massage hurt?
Some types of massage are more intense than others depending on individual needs. Even if deep or painful areas need to be addressed, there will be plenty of preparation to relax the area to keep the massage as pleasant as possible. Massage is most effective when kept within a comfortable range. If the massage hurts, you are likely to tighten up, limiting the effectiveness of the treatment. Most people are aware that the painful area is being worked on but typically the massage itself does not hurt. Communicating with your therapist is helpful in ensuring that the massage is enjoyable and effective.
Why do you massage somewhere other than where I said it hurts?
The cause of pain or discomfort is rarely exclusively located in any one area including the place in which it hurts. It is always beneficial to work the entire muscle chain involved.
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule, cancel an appointment, or reduce your appointment hours. This gives us enough time to fill this time slot If you fail to cancel prior to 24 hours before your onsite massage appointment, you will be billed for the session. This late fee is NOT claimable under any insurance plans.
LATE ARRIVAL POLICY
We regret that late arrivals will not receive extension of scheduled onsite massage appointments. In special cases, and when our schedule will allow, we may be able to accommodate a partial or full appointment. This will be at our discretion and only with proper, advanced notification of your late arrival. The original reservation fee will be charged.
NO SHOW POLICY
Clients who fail to show for onsite massage appointments will be billed for the full cost of the treatment booked. This payment is not claimable under any insurance plan. If you can not make your appointment, please call 24 hours in advanced to cancel or reschedule. It is important that our onsite massage therapists are compensated for reserved time slots.
Why do I have to pay for a session if I can't keep my appointment?
The 24-hour cancellation policy has no exceptions. We require each individual to be responsible for their time commitments. If you cancel (or reschedule) with less than 24 hours notice, leaving little to no chance of rebooking the appointment time, you have to pay for the session so that the therapist does not lose income. However, we understand that sometimes life happens.
